Forstau - the vacation

WINTER:
Forstau is a small village set at an elevation
of 1,000 metres above sea level, nestled
in a high valley between Radstadt and
Schladming.
Take advantage of our town's central location
- idyllic, peaceful, family-oriented,
yet still with ready access to all the
opportunities afforded by Austria's biggest
ski alliance. The Fageralm - Forstau's
idyll of natural snows, home to the most
rustic skiers' inns for far and wide!
Broad and gently dropping slopes covered
in pristine snow, lots of room to ski,
one-of-a-kind panoramic views of the surrounding
Alpine world, the sunniest of high plateaus
(drenched in sunlight throughout the day
- even in January!) and fairy-tale skiers'
inns, all inviting you to while away many
a vacation day.
Thanks to free ski shuttles, state-of-the-art
lifts and modern snow-making equipment,
busy slopes and long waits are a thing
of the past. With such regions as the
Salzburg Sports World, Schladming- Dachstein-
Tauern, Gastein, the Grossarl Valley and
Hochkönig's Winter Kingdom, you will have
untold opportunities to indulge your skiing
passions. In total, they represent an
unbelievable 865 (!) km of slopes and
276 ski lifts - all on a single ski pass!!

SUMMER:
Our village is your village. Here with
us, everything is just slightly more friendly,
slightly more peaceful - even though we're
just about 10 minutes off the major transit
routes. We are a small vacation village
with great perspectives - nestled in a
north-south high valley located between
Radstadt and Schladming.
In Forstau, you'll experience the variety
and harmony of our landscapes and the
hospitality of the locals. Both in summer
and winter, we offer you all kinds of
recreational opportunities, yet are still
an ideal spot to kick back and, if you
choose, do absolutely nothing at all -
simply dream the day away! Spring and
autumn - times of awakening and colorful
farewells in this tranquil countryside.
